Here's how it works
Shop your Strolee stroller
Use any payment method, your regular credit or debit card is fine.
Complete a clinical intake form
Burst connects you with a licensed clinician who can review and issue a Letter of Medical Necessity if appropriate.
Get reimbursed
Burst files your claim with your HSA or FSA administrator. If approved, your funds are deposited back into your account, typically within a week.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for a Strolee stroller?
A Strolee stroller may be eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement, with Burst's help, when it supports a health need such as a child's mobility or positioning needs, or a parent's or caregiver's back condition, injury, or post-surgical recovery that limits safely carrying a child, where applicable.
Burst connects you with a licensed clinician who can review your case and, if appropriate, issue a Letter of Medical Necessity. Once issued, Burst can file your reimbursement claim. If your administrator approves it, funds are returned to your account.
-------------
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?
An LMN is a signed statement from a licensed clinician explaining that a product or service is medically necessary to support diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring of a health condition. Most HSA and FSA administrators require an LMN before they'll reimburse you for certain products and services. If you qualify, a clinician in Burst's network can issue one as part of your clinical intake, so you don't need a separate appointment.
-------------
What is Burst and how does it work?
Burst is the service that helps qualified customers use HSA or FSA dollars on health and wellness products. After you check out, you complete a clinical intake form. If a clinician determines an LMN is appropriate, Burst issues it and files your claim with your HSA or FSA administrator. If approved, funds are returned to your bank account. Burst charges a service fee for this, paid by you directly to Burst; it is separate from your Strolee purchase.
-------------
Do I need to use my HSA or FSA card to pay?
No. Use whichever debit or credit card you'd normally use. Burst handles reimbursement after your purchase, so qualifying funds come back to your account instead of coming out of a special card at checkout.
-------------
What if I don't have enough funds in my HSA or FSA?
Many plans allow partial reimbursement. If your available balance doesn't cover the full amount, your administrator may reimburse the portion you have available.
-------------
How much can I save?
Qualified customers save an average of 30%* when paying with pre-tax HSA or FSA dollars. Actual savings vary based on tax bracket, plan rules, and available balance.
-------------
Can I use Burst for a past Strolee purchase?
No. An LMN must be dated on or before the purchase date, and clinicians cannot backdate one (IRS rule). The one exception: if you already had an LMN dated on or before your purchase that covers your Strolee stroller, send it through and Burst can file your claim. Otherwise, complete your LMN request at the time of purchase.
-------------
Can I use a Letter of Medical Necessity from my own clinician?
If your existing LMN covers your Strolee stroller, you can submit it through Burst and Burst will file your claim. If you don't have one, a clinician in Burst's network can review your clinical intake and issue one where appropriate.
